The First European Forum of Rectors of Pedagogic Universities on "The problem of new teacher training for the united Europe in XXI century" was held 15-17 September 2011 in Kyiv, Ukraine.  Rectors of pedagogic universities from 11 European countries and over 40 rectors of Ukrainian pedagogic, humanitarian and traditional universities participated in the event. Forum began with the International Dragomanov pedagogical readings on "Dragomanov as a European scientist, politician and educator. To 170th anniversary of his birth".

 

Ceremonial meeting of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University staff, rectors of Ukrainian and European pedagogic universities was held at the Ukrainian National Opera named after Taras Shevchenko. Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn proclaimed the main report on "World Dragomanov greatness".

 

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn and Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov also sent greetings to all participants of the Forum.

 

Within the Forum a Consortium of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities in Europe and International scientific and pedagogical journal "European teaching studio" were founded, the Appeal to Presidents, Parliament Members and Ministers of Education in European countries to support teachers and pedagogic education was adopted.
